Wings and Strings

Frank flew high in the sky, chasing eagles on the breeze

In his fighter jet and wings spread wide over the deep blue seas

Feeling discipline and duty, devoting his life to serve

High above the world below, every nerve in reserve

When the sun set down, and the jet cooled on the ground

Frank would swap those wings for a fishing string he'd found

By the riverside, with a tackle, box and pole

Trading skies for waters, finding peace in his soul

Air force wings and fishing strings, both spoke to Frank's heart

One gave him discipline, the other a world apart
