Steps

In the silence I wait

No voices, no sound

The room holds my breath as it circles around

I'm lost in the stillness, in thoughts of the years

Where the road might lead

Through hopes and through fears

I think of the steps, misjudged, and undone

The lessons they gave me, the battles I won

Mistakes like old friends, their faces still clear

But they guide me now, with wisdom sincere
