His small head was wrapped in bloody bandages and one of his arms also scabbed and bruised and swollen

Hung limply down between his father's feet

The father was frozen squatting with his back against a wall blood flowing on the sidewalk beneath him

He held his son's face and spoke softly to him

Then he turned and looked around him the expression on his face a mixture of grief and confusion

What would he do with this boy in his arms?
