My Letter to God

Dear Lord, it's quiet tonight

The stars are out, but I don't feel right

I've carried this weight for far too long

I'm just looking for where I belong

I'm not asking for miracles or signs

Just a little strength to get through this time

Dear Lord, I'm doing my best but some days it feels like I'm failing the test

The road gets rough, the nights grow cold, but I'll keep walking with what I hold

Thank you for listening, I know you're near yours truly, dear Lord, I'm still here

I see the beauty you've put in this place The golden fields and the morning's grace

But sometimes it's hard to see past the pain When the clouds roll in and it starts to rain
