Anxiety

It starts as a whisper a chill through my bones

A flicker in shadows cutting deep as stone

Then it rises like floodwaters climbing too fast

I'm drowning in silence haunted by my past

Heart's a sledgehammer pounding raw in my chest

Every breath is a struggle every step's a test

They see a calm ocean but I'm caught in the tide

Screaming for rescue but it's buried inside

And I've built my castle on walls of sand

Pretend strength in a kingdom I barely command
