Eighteen years fly by while I'm still stuck inside

My friends are all out by the lake, they're drinking getting high

I'm searching for the words I always think I need to find

To explain to you how I don't want the years to pass me by

That's why I packed up my shit and said"fuck this town"

I know every name in every faceless crowd

The endless bullshit just goes 'round and 'round

Until I'm back where I started on forsaken ground

Decades passed since I escaped these city lines

But still I find myself back in this town from time to time
