Covering your windows so no-one ever sees you

You hide behind the curtains in the dark

Try to light a fire for comfort you are seeking

Afraid that too much daylight leaves its mark

Once inside the winter when colder nights surround you

I listened to the silence of the walls

I heard them talk about me and so I had to listen
