Going west

I lay awake in worries about my designated crew

Despite the signs of land we have

The courageous ones are few

They sit around in circles whenever they're awake

Complaining they will never see the Spanish coast again

It's insanity and suicide to persist in going west

The madness of this foreigner will lead us to our death

Its true that i have lied to them about how many leagues we've sailed

Our guardian angels only know just how much remains

I was told last night at supper by my few last trusted men
