Driving round my old stomping grounds Memories just gather round

They walk the streets when I'm in town

And I know everyone that's still hanging round

I grew up in a little town With Old Knife River and the train downtown

Ain't much to do when it's winter time So I play guitar to free my mind

I grew up in a mining town A quiet place to put my head down

Didn't need too much, we had ourselves Hardly ever left that little town

When I moved out, I watched it go down Ain't that much left, that's left around

But farms and fields and old buildings now And whispers are all the past left now
