Closure

There's a ring on the finger of a love I couldn't shake

And I'm just sorry that it wasn't me

I was reading her old blog and waxing nostalgic

And I stumbled on a photo that I shouldn't have seen

I don't remember much of how it ended

Just woke up with carvings on my legs

That started years of mourning and penance

Where back to normal only felt recently

Yet somehow my heart's not on the floor

In pieces like for years I feared it would

And maybe that's the passing of time
