Punchline King

I built myself a coffin made from pilfered wood I scraped up from the bar

All the regulars can send me off, the late night scene's abandoned fading star

They'll toast my battered memory with whiskey, beer, and cigarette smoke

They all call me the punchline king, but I got tired of living out the joke

Bring me that old rugged cross, I'll help you drive the nails through my own hands

I never lived a faultless life, but deep down I know Jesus understands
