Carl's Pappy

In the hills of Pennsylvania, where the tall pines grow

Old Pappy Carl taught me everything I know

From the crack of dawn, 'til the sun went down

He showed me the ways of this old hunting ground

Pappy loved his fishing, on the lake he'd be found

With his old rod and reel, casting all around

Stuffed flounder on the table, Swiss steak for a feast

Pappy's cooking and stories never did cease

Pappy loved his hunting and he loved his fishing too

He taught my dad the ropes, and now I'm passing on the view
