So all alone, forsaken by His own

Left to die in poverty, like a thief He hung in shame upon a tree

Dying that this soul might be set free

Suff'ring pain and loss to pay sin's final cost

My Saviour let them nail Him to that tree

They cried out, "Crucify!" and on that day they watched Him die

In such pain and agony - yet, He did it all for me

It seems all life stands still upon that lonely hill

As Christ hung His head in shame, and took upon Himself my crimson stain
