The sound in the city is trying to find itself

We've never had a sound in Minneapolis, at least as far as rap music for sure

R&B, we was you know, we ran the 80s

Everybody in the world was coming here trying to get records from Minnesota producers

But we've never had rapping take precedence

Or we've never had a sound, we always have people from Chicago move here

Kansas City move here, LA, New York, they bring all these sounds

So we're more of a melting pot in the Midwest, unfortunately

I just think the city needs to find where we're at, you know a sound

But the city has to get behind somebody in order for everyone else to be able to come through the door
