In the heart of the forest where the trees once stood tall

Now the silence whispers where the leaves used to fall

The rivers run dry and the birdsong fades away

In the shadows of the past the green turns to gray

Oh the forest is crying hear its mournful plea

Once a haven of life now a memory

In the echoes of the wind hear the sorrowful song
