Can I place my trust in you

as the wildflowers do?

My spirit knows deeply the care you've shown and although I know I'm held within your hands,

can I trust that he will be in your other one?

I worry, that when love turns to fear in the span of a moment, the unconditional constant that family presents becomes a rocky foundation on which our feet stumble

We were never much for dancing

Can I trust that you'll clothe him in love like the lilies of the field
