Burning up the blacktop across the vast prairie

Skipping all the truck stops in search of wild country

Go and snatch a road map before we get lost

Gotta get back on track these roads get me crisscrossed

Glowing gold beside back roads, beauty's beyond boundless

Rolling hills, give me thrills, lead me to the mountains

The summer sun heat beats rising from the asphalt

Cars go tearing through the streets until they hit the road salt

When the weather switches and the snow begins to blow

Keep between the ditches or you'll run it off the road
