Barbados Stomp

Escaped the British winter cold and set sail across the sea

The sunshine picked my luggage up and threw my boards on the first taxi

I drove northwards up the west coast watching all my dreams come true

At Dudley Wood I met Lunch and Margie and the Gog and Teddy crew

I watch and wonder as the road gets more bizarre

A sunset rum on their veranda and try to tune this old geetar

So there were soirees at the Sangsters, green-flash chasing on our beach

Margaritas gone bananas, perfect waves at Gibbs's Reef

Then Margie flowed a car, I didn't drive that far before I found the waves out east

With the village named Bathsheba I fell in love and couldn't leave

And every passing day life's growing still more strange
