November 5th

One evening I was shooting hoops my phone ringing was a distraction. I checked who called my phone my uncle needs my attention, we had a conversation. For a minute we not been speaking, I guess we had busy schedules. He said a few things we laughed, one word I remember make use of the time we have. Regardless life is a blessing, he called for a reason. He checked on a nephew and he ties the knot in a few days, i travelled with my mom a day early it was a six hour trip. I was exhausted, I had a nap a few times, great times we had as a family now this marks a special day, congratulations for this special occasion.

I was popping champagne at the wedding reception. Some shed happy tears, i saw some faces I haven't seen in years.. My mom back home after twenty four hours.

Myself three days later, we say a prayer before we embark on a four hour journey. We dropping my granny off before we embark a return journey, we had plans leaving early. A truck moving full speed on the next lane smashed our whip, we never begun the trip. Everyone unconscious except the person telling the story, i came out the whip from a broken windscreen. I screamed for help now stopped two cabs now rushing to the hospital. My granny, two uncles and my sister unconscious. They had broken arms, legs, neck and hips. Myself I broke a wrist. We got to the hospital I saw five people dead in few hours, life and death situation scary hours.

My mom heard the news, she took few hours to get to the hospital. Doctors were stupid so we flew in a helicopter to another hospital. An emergency, we had a surgery. It's a blessing my family in good shape, it was a bad day now just a memory. Everybody healthy and being alive is a beautiful thing. This is present, I understand life is a gift. Bad things happen, good things happen.
