I chased a rainbow, thought I caught it, tried to hold it in my hand

But colors broke into tiny pieces, like shards of glass in a wasted land

I gazed into the darkened heavens, thought I found a lucky star

But it blinked out, disappeared, and all my luck just fell apart

I wondered through this lonely valley, disenchanted, jaded too

I couldn't see a bright tomorrow, just tears and fears in shades of blue

So when I found you, I knew I'd lose you just like everything I've known

Yet here you are, still beside me, telling me I'm not alone

You're my lifeline, my resurrection
