Love in the 21st Century

I spend my evenings sifting through a sea of faces, each one new

Trying to find the perfect match, and wondering who will like me back

A flashing heart lights up my screen, she's asking how my day has been

Call it luck or call it destiny, this is love in the 21st century

She's pretty and she's five foot three, she works in foreign policy

She doesn't smoke and drink socially, she doesn't live too far from me

Before I start to overthink, I suggest we get a drink

She says Thursday works for me, this is love in the 21st century

Thursday finally comes around, 6pm at the Rose and Crown

I'm early so I find a spot, to calm my nerves and watch the clock
