It started off as innocence, made sense like any other

A couple silly children want to mix and meld together through some chemical addition

As we floated deep into the stars and felt the absolution

Sure it felt great, sure it felt fire

How were we supposed to know that we were burning our own pyres?

So it would continue, travel to the city, cruise around in that old Civic

Then we'd pull into an empty lot and thrash around while we was sick

Boy those were the good days, but also they're the worst

Soon enough we'd crash and burn, don't really even know what happened

The world around us ended, nothing else was left

As far as we're concerned, the only thing was death

And so we left each other, but still we stayed together
