I've lived in basements my whole life

With frosted glass block windows as a memory of outside

Keep the curtains drawn, so they won't know when I sleep

Does it really matter if i haven't left my room all week?

Is living underground some half-baked metaphor?

For being out of touch with what I choose to ignore?

Have I become the prisoner trapped inside of Plato's Cave?

Where the door is always open but I still choose to stay?

'Cause the sun burns my eyes

I'm scared if I stare that I'll start to go blind
