Midnight Swim

I try to hold you down but you keep pulling from underneath

I watch the surface fade and fill my lungs with songs from the deep

Tonight I swim with fishes, left alone desiring your touch

The bleeding never stops, it leaves me dry 'til you fill me up

Bent down and paralyzed with my heart, a loaded gun

When will I ever learn that a lifetime of tomorrows

Never comes

The fire in my heart evaporates the tears I float in

My new friends swim away and I'm left lonely burning within

Tomorrow I relieve the pressure but it won't kill the pain
