The Gift of Pain

Just like that, my life collapsed

Everything I worked for, shattered like glass

What did I do to deserve this? There must have been a target on my back. I lost my friends, my brothers. No time to heal, just one hit after the other

When will this end? I hope this is the worst of it

I've never felt so angry, what is the lesson that I'm learning?

I want to cry out, I can't find the words to make this make sense

So I try to bury it, but i know I gotta bring it to the surface

As tough as it is, I refuse to accept this

It's way too hard to see through the lens of defeat

So I look the other way and search for understanding

in between the process of pain and healing
