The subtle cues that you send don't land despite your assistance

I tied a string to my head to fly it off in the distance

Afraid if I ask again you'll know that I didn't listen

I try to keep it in mind but then it's gone in an instant

And even on the best occasions I'm losing track of time

I'm a little lost in the way I'm thinking

I'm a little soft in the mind

The old reliable vices still are getting me through it

A brief repose from all of the ways I've been too into it

I got enough going on and not enough time to do it
