The Stars

When I was young I used to want to make it big

Back in my hometown when I was a just kid

Shining like them stars way up high on the screen

For everyone to hear for everyone to see

Used to look at the night sky and dream I'd go far

Spent half my time staring up at the stars

Moved to the big city when I turned 18

Played loud for the crowds and made the girlies scream

Offered a contract that seemed like a dream

But sometimes dreams aren't quite what they seem

I'd spend every night drivin' round in fancy cars
