Summer sun sets on a golden beach and the person you love is always out of reach

About the way things were or the way they might have been

If you were counting on the Truth like you were waiting on a friend

A couple of cervezas keeps you kickin' it in the wind

It's rolling in the waves thinking summer never ends

But the weeks they turn to months and the years go by like weeks

And the money dries up and you're serving someone's drinks

The bar you love is empty and you feel so incomplete

And now you talk a lot of smack but you're still propping up your feet

One night it's just a joke but then it's a favor for a friend
