As a child I remember when the days were bright

Run around in the park there was no fear of a fight

The only fight we ever had was an imagination

Going home to eat tenders watching all claymations

The boogeyman under our beds or in our closets

The main thing that kept us up the innocent mindset

Of children in my neighborhood everything was good

Never thought about violence as an infant should

On the day of my birth the lightning struck as I slept

And according to my mom I hardly ever wept

Until the day my father left and was bugging my mom

Age 3 was the time my life went three times dark
