Ghost of Lindsay

Just like that she fled, shot up from the bed and she sped away

And me, for all my verbiage, couldn't find the proper wordage to make her stay

So I drove down to Delray to the place she bought her edamame

And I asked her if they'd seen her and if her grass was any greener nowadays

Now I don't get too worked up, never whipped into a frenzy

But I don't get to sleep much, still haunted by the ghost of Lindsay

I guess she found a better bargain, tended someone else's garden, since she moved on

Now her roots are growing deeper, where the real estate is cheaper and I've been improved upon

There's some comfort in the truth, she was never mine to lose, not for a minute

And if I choose to pack it in, spit out all this saccharine, that's how I'll spin it
