What For

I saw a man with a basket of tears leaking all over the floor

He said he hadn't had a bucket for years then he walked on out my door

I saw a woman with a purse full of blood

Her eyes were cold and hard

Just like a dancer with her feet in the mud trying to dance in my front yard

I guess they must have met there out on the street

I heard some angry voices slamming car doors

What did they do that for?

I saw a lion with a thorn in his ear tortured by sounds in his brain

King of the jungle with a terminal tear that no love song could ever explain
