But I haven't played ball since I was eight

But I still think about it every day

So I shoved it down away with

The insecurities that eat me awake

Like the way my head tilts sideways

And the way my mouth and voice are shaped

And that monster under your bed you were

Complaining about but I can't kill

Or shoot a harpoon straight through its heart

Or strike it til it bleeds apart
