The sirens rang out in the golden eternity

The people all ran to see who had pulled back the cloth

And to them we're all actors on this half finished scenery

Once more with conviction or don't say it at all

We go through the motions with such elegant forgery

The flickering light-posts are most surely the cause

But now that I've run too fast it's all just a blur to me
