Love Still Lingers On

Won't you sit and stay awhile and lend an old man your ear

I've got some tales that'll make you smile and a few that'll make you tear

I've lived a life of many miles filled with, both, dark days and clear

And if you'll kindly sit and wile away some time right here

I've met, loved, and lost a lot of good folk in this life of mine, you see

And now I'm the last, it's a cruel joke, because pain's a poor substitute for glee

If I had one chance to do it all again… but differently

I really wouldn't change too many things, because then it would change me

I did good things and I did bad things, but nothing too extreme

I had two great kids and a pretty wife… man, we made a great team
