I wake up, the smell of smoke fills my nose I can feel the cool summer breeze comin' in

nice and slow Wakin' up in the bed of my truck doesn't get much better than this

I can watch the sun come up through the trees

Back in high school we sure spent some time

On the banks of that old river, yeah, quite a few nights

Had some drinks and shared some good times with my friends

I would get home and sneak back in before six a.m

Though those years have passed, I often look back

On times now out of reach, I long for the past

Wisdom and age now take the place of broken dreams
