I became a doctor so that I could stitch you up

Sewed in my heart beating but it wasn't enough

So I became a superhero and tried to save your life

But you took my cape away from me when you learned I couldn't fly

Then I became a builder so I could make you tall

Soon you were just made of stone

I was singing to a wall

And I turned into ivy

Thought maybe I'd grow on you

But my leaves weren't pretty

So you dug up my roots
