YOU ARE MY LIGHT

I find it hard at these times to explain to you just how I feel

The first thing that comes to my mind is protect you from things that are real

Shielding your way from a storm that is planning to make an attack

A storm that I try to subdue and I do, but it always comes back

It's hard to admit to myself that I don't always have full control

What kind of person am I? Am I weak or did stress take its toll

I have all I need in this life, but I can't seem to grab and hold on

It slips through my fingers with time and my mind won't remember it's gone

And you, you are my light. You help me through the long, hardened dark night

And we can be dug down deep and still know we'll come out by the time it is bright
