After Last Call

I've been thinking, I've been drinking

And I feel I've filled my load

But then again maybe just half another and then I'll hit the road

I was hoping for a night of lifetime changes for a loner

But instead I'm well acquainted with the jukebox in the corner

It was playing all these songs of which I used to know the words

And I still can hum the choruses though the verses are all blurred

I've been cursing all my luck

Although I've always had my health

I once thought that I knew what love was when I put it on a shelf

And so long as it was up there it was shiny and attractive
