Bonfire

My skin's been itching more and more these past few days

I think it's time I tore it off and start again

I'm having trouble breathing through my nose today

Still it's early and the pain has gone away

Maybe I'll stand up for myself, maybe I'll face

The tightening vice grip on my waist

Then I will figure out

That if I gave you a chance, you'd show me how to dance

Another spark, another inch into the dark,

Another attempt to reassure misses the mark

Despite all that has gone before I'm still ashamed
