For as long as I can remember, it seemed like there was something missing

Like everybody had a cork in their brain

Something that was keeping them from spilling out onto the floor

I looked for what would complete me in a variety of sources

And I reached out into the darkness for it and felt the shape of many things

Which seemed like it would plug up my hole in my skull

And I begged

Or maybe I put makeup around it

Or perhaps I glorified it

Making myself a martyr for young and foolish people like myself

But eventually things got real

I wasn't playing a game anymore and I wasn't lying anymore

I was just incapable of having any direct thought

I was incapable of completing a day without being washed to and fro

I didn't know why I was stumbling

I didn't know where my feet were landing

Somehow, even then, I had hope, though, that this would all be different someday

At this time in my life, I have far less hope, but I have far more believing

Because the only thing that has ever and will ever bring anyone out of that darkness is Light

Light is not something that people find by looking deeply into where the world has advertised it to be

Light is not something that people can simply conjure up

It's not something that can be bought, nor will it ever be sold, but it does have a price

God is light

You can read about light without ever possessing it, but you can never possess it without knowing of its existence

And you can never know of its existence without somebody pointing you in the right direction, or something

There have been many people who have pointed in the direction of light

They've said, light is in the sky, or light is in the ocean

But Jesus Christ taught us that light is within us

For that is where the kingdom of God is located, within our own bodies

Because we have this treasure within an earthen vessel

I tried everything to plug up the hole in my skull, but only one thing fit

And it was removed from me

At a very young age, when I began to believe what man taught me

When I began to learn what human beings taught me

They said, this will fulfill you, or that will fulfill you

Strive for this

Exceed all those you're equals

Become something special

Finally be deserving of love

They said many words

One such as myself, finds words easy to believe

But not all words are truth

Even if what you speak is truth

So it was taken from me

And I knew not where to find it

Because every person that told me precisely where it was

I believed to be uninformed, unknowledgeable

They said, it's right behind you

It's in the place where it's always been

It's in the place where you were raised

It's in your hands already

But never until I was humble enough to see that it had been by my side all this time

Did I feel the urge to reach down and plug up the hole

With what had been by my side all this time

God fulfills the mortal man

There is nothing that will fill up the space within your chest

Save that which has designed what should be possessed within your vessel

And there is nothing that is going to stop God from coming

And taking your life and turning it into gold

There is nothing that can stop God from taking the synapses in your mind

And refurnishing them into something that is and will always be effective

And producing the results that he has decided that you will produce

He is not made up

He is not an idea or a romanticized notion

That human beings have taken the time to place together in an eloquent fashion

God is real

So make your choice

But don't hover

Don't be amidst the left and the right

Make your decision

Either stand or sit down

Because the entire world is united to dispute God's existence

And to dispute the validity of Christianity

So if you want to see organization

If you want to see oppression

If you want to see a lot of people with a lot of hate

Coming together

To argue one point in unison

Look at the world and its response

But if you want to see love

Look at those who have embraced God through Christ Jesus

Many may say they are Christian

But just because you possess a Bible

And because you have read the words within it

And because you have attended a church service with other individuals

Does not make you a man or woman of God

Only God can make you a man or woman of God

And only you can allow that process to take place

At the speed that you will allow it

At the speed you desire

God is real

God is the healer of broken hearts

And God can take care of any issue that you have been in

He can make the half-life of your misery

Less than you think it ought to be

So make your choice

Make your decision

And then be fruitful
