Eli Pricey

Eli Pricey (born David Chilekwa Kaimba on December 15, 1999, in Chingola, Zambia) is a Zambian Afrobeats artist and entrepreneur. Born to multi-national parents, Eli Pricey was raised by his older sister, the third born in a family of 11. Two of his sisters were fathered by different fathers, adding to the complexities of his upbringing. Though he has never met his biological father, Eli grew up with the father who raised eight of his siblings.

In his early years, Eli was mischievous, particularly at the age of six. However, he turned his focus to school, excelling academically and regularly topping his class. His outstanding performance earned him the nickname "the professor." While he is known for his friendly nature, he is fiercely protective of his privacy.

Eli’s spiritual life also shaped his journey. He loved attending church and was an active member of the praise team from 2011 to 2014. During this time, he formed a church group called Sons of Compassion but had to leave the group due to high school commitments.

While attending Kamwala Secondary School, Eli met a lifelong friend, Felix Mpande, whom he nicknamed "Chondozi" due to Felix’s clever nature. The two share a drive for greatness, and Felix is now a qualified teacher. Eli hopes that one day Felix will achieve his goal of becoming a doctor and professor in physics, a prayer close to his heart.

In 2018, Eli left Zambia for South Africa to pursue his studies in Integrated Communication Design at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), graduating in 2021. His music, influenced by his experiences growing up in the Chibolya Ghetto, reflects the struggles and triumphs of urban life.

Eli Pricey's breakout album, The Grammy, features hit singles like "Street Love," "ILEKE," and "Mutima," earning him recognition for his distinct sound. In addition to his music career, Eli Pricey is an entrepreneur, running a marketing agency specializing in graphic design, social media marketing, and web design.
