In less than 2 years, the highly controversial oddity known as MDTA has carved his very own place in the Underground landscape and is poised to go even further in 2020 and beyond. Hailing from Chicago, this American musical wrecking machine formed in 2018.
While most rappers from a country not exactly known for Dark, Heavy Metal, Emo, and Lo-Fi infusion exports would be content to enjoy the little recognition received in those first few years, it was clear that MDTA craved more and was willing to go the extra mile to make this happen.
It was this intensity that caught the attention of Dj-Paul (3-6 Mafia), who quickly reached out and connected with MDTA after the release of his critically acclaimed first single Mirror (2018), as well as the game changing single and video for River Phoenix, which allowed him to gain hundreds of new fans, thousands of views/streams and a handful of reaction videos on YouTube. His debut EP, More Dead, showcased his musical prowess and growth while opening the floodgates to a bigger International market which MDTA gladly took advantage of. By the end of the first year of non-stop recording, MDTA added new fan bases in markets such as Japan, Philippines, Australia, United Kingdom, Mexico, Brazil and most of Eastern Europe, while sharing stages and opening up for the likes of Lil Darkie, OmenXiii and Jgrxxn to mention a few.
