Bay Area native James Quick emerged in 2015 with not much more than a handful of tracks recorded in his dorm room. With a jazz upbringing and several years spent in New Orleans surrounded by similar creatives, he developed a songwriting style balancing effortless hooks and poignant storytelling about his relationships, fears and ambitions. A producer in his own right, he incorporates exploratory guitar work with electronic elements to bring a refreshing and young energy to his compositions.
