Originally hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, Spawneezy moved to the UK when he was very young. He lived in North London for a few years, but then moved to Reading; little did he know the impact of this decision, as it would catapult his career to new heights.
He was swiftly dubbed the ‘dancefloor filler’ due to his sheer talent on decks and rapport with a crowd, quickly becoming one of the South East’s most coveted DJs. He noticed a gap in the Urban market in Berkshire, and working under the pseudonym of ‘XLR8’, Spawneezy launched his iconic ‘Body English’ club night, thus paving the way for other DJs to follow suit.
