William Snelling

I came to the music scene later than most musicians I know. I didn’t pick up a guitar until I was 17, but I haven’t really put it down since. I’ve written my own songs for a few years, but only in my last year of University did I start to devote my time to originals. It’s difficult to say which artists I’m most inspired from. I grew up listening to all sorts of different musicians and bands; The Beatles more so then others. In fact, it was their ‘Complete Chord Songbook’ that I used to help teach myself how to play in the first place. I like to think that being a self taught musician has given me a unique playing style, pushing myself to find my own sound. The songs I write have always been personal, but aimed to be relatable for listeners. My first Album, Sign In The Sky, tells personal stories of myself and others I know, in a raw acoustic style. My music is most enjoyed with headphones in, with your feet up and the world blocked out.
