Ayo Solanke is an award winning jazz and soul saxophonists based in Johannesburg South Africa. A master of his art, Ayo Solanke possesses a soulful style with a unique golden touch of class. He is a worshiper, speaker, producer and songwriter with a background in event management with over two decades of experience.
He picked up the saxophone for the first time in 1997 during his first year studying Mechanical Engineering at the University Of Lagos, Nigeria and gradually developed into a virtuoso performer.
He has appeared on live DVDs with the legendary Kirk Whalum (USA) (Gospel According to Jazz-ChapterIV), Rev Benjamin Dube (Renewal In His Presence) and Nqubeko Mbatha (Heaven's Way) amongst others
Ayo has also recorded and shard the stages with the likes of Nathaniel Bassey, Hugh Masekela, Ntokozo Mbambo, Zahara, Judith Sephuma, Afrotraction, Jimmy Dludlu, Ringo Madlingozi, Danny K, Loyiso Bala, Lloyd Cele, Ernie Smith, Pops Mohammed, Don Laka, Cobhams (Nigeria) and Kunle Ayo just to mention a few. Others include, Mimi Mtetwa, Theo Kgosinkwe, Asa (France) and Onyeka Onwenu (Nigeria), Nqubeko Mbatha, Ntokozo Mbatha, Brian Themba.
He has also performed before notable personalities such as Oprah Winfrey, former President Bill Clinton Of USA, former President Jacob Zuma of South Africa, President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria and TD Jakes.
He recently recorded his first Live DVD titled “THE JOURNEY STILL LIVE” in July 2017 in Johannesburg South Africa....more
