I went to Nashville, Tennessee to find a folk song. I found electronica instead. I came back as Low Key Trampoline. What changed?
I remembered who I was. The tape decks recording every blessed jam in attics and basements, the homemade mix tapes with TDK 90 minute cassette tapes, handed out to friends and family, the quick turnaround of authentic, urgent music that will melt, decay, or implode inside you if you don’t get it out ASAP.
I slept.
I thought about it.
I began playing with music again. Experimentation, novelty, risk, immediacy, and finally a new sound was born. Low Key Trampoline. A place where musical judgement is eschewed in favor of pure musical expression. My songs are electronic, jazz, post-rock expressions of what my heart is saying today. Made now, made by hand, and handed out as personally as I can. To you. The listener.
