Singer/Songwriter Dorian Whisper, who grew up in the Netherlands, has been composing most of his songs on the guitar, while the lyrics reflect memories and impressions from various places where he lived and worked. The catchy compositions carry a blend of Dorian’s musical interests and experiences ranging from bossa nova to funk and jazz.
While visiting the Philippines in 2019, Dorian met Richard Deligero, a musician and arranger from Davao City. When jamming some jazz standards, Dorian and Richard noticed how the combination of their different musical backgrounds enriched the music they were playing. After a few more sessions Dorian suggested trying some of his compositions. Fascinated by the universal sound and unique atmosphere of their creations, they decided that the songs deserved to be made public.
In January 2020, Dorian and Richard recorded four songs for their debut album ‘As Long as You Want’. Dorian was responsible for vocals and guitars, while Richard enhanced the songs with keyboard, bass, percussion and drums. Acknowledging that there is more material under way, they planned to return to the studio later in 2020.
For obvious reasons, the 2020 plans were adjusted, but they were still able to release 'And the Days After' in October of that year. 'I Miss You' came out in January 2021 and a new single is scheduled to be released in April 2021....more
