Psalmist Japhet Mwape

Japhet Mayunga Mwape, born in Chingola, Zambia in 1984, is a devout Christian who grew up in a loving family with strong religious values instilled by his pastor father. His dedication to his faith, cultivated from a young age, has remained constant throughout his life, guiding him through both challenging and joyful experiences. His passion for singing blossomed at eleven years old, leading him to join a praise team at his former church. After completing his education, Mwape moved to Lusaka in 2007, where he met Pastor Susan, a significant figure in the release of his debut album, "Umutima Wandi," in 2008. In 2020, he married his wife and together they have four children. His unwavering commitment to God continues to fuel his desire to sing for him, fulfilling a covenant made with his faith. Mayunga's life, a testament to his faith, exemplifies the power of religious conviction, passion for music, and the enduring influence of family and community.
