STARMAPS is an electronic indie act based on opposite sides of the world. Formed in 2022 by Adelaide based singer / guitarist songwriter Dan Gaskin and London based DJ / producer Rachel Ho, the duo have been working across different time zones and Whatsapp messages to create a repertoire of electronic-fueled melodic pop songs. Teaming up with Italian producer, Laps, and American producer, John DeMichele, STARMAPS, have be working on an album due for release in 2024. After a well received debut single release in July with “This Is Love” and putting a live band together for several Australian live shows, STARMAPS are excited to drop their follow up single, “Somebody Say Something”, which showcases the depth in the duo’s song writing.
Dan & Rach met in Adelaide when their previous bands Sumi and Edison Music played on the same shows. They went on to play together in Newtonheath and The Dark Lights before losing touch when Rachel relocated to London. Reconnecting over social media during the pandemic, Dan & Rach started writing together again embracing the array of possibilities a hybrid recording format can bring with STARMAPS as the result....more
